回复: about books of semantic prosody 我同意Dr.Xu的看法。 语义韵是Sinclair发现的，或者用notice更贴切。 在记录Cobuild项目的Looking Up（1987）里，他报道了set in的消极主语现象。我书读得有限，不知道这是不是比较早的关于语义韵现象的文献。 但和3C一样，他同样没有提到semantic prosody，事实上整本书根本就没有出现过prosody这个词。因此这个概念归功于1993年的Bill Louw应该没有异议。

回复: 想给英语专业本科生开门语料库辅助英语学习的课 我的一点看法，也是困惑吧。 比如，一个词的用法，出现两个频率，40%和50%。 如果词典中2个用法都解释了，那么，在学生看来，不就是花了整整2个小时的时间解释了少数几个用法的来龙去脉吗，这么做真的有价值?40%对50%能决定考试时的ABCD选择? 如果词典仅仅提到了一种用法，那么教师的立场应该是什么？鼓励学生质疑词典？我觉得这个风险太大了

最近想写篇文章，用到http://corpus.byu.edu/bnc中的检索结果 有一个问题不大清晰：如果说spoken代表的是colloquial，academic代表的formal，那么fiction和news的地位是什么呢？ 那里面的fiction包括drama，prose和poetry。 拿drama来说，一般认为是一种伪口语，是不是不好和spoken/academic比较呢？ 简单地说，spoken，fiction，news，academic四个语域在正式程度上是不是大致呈线性关系呢？
