如果没有WordSmith软件又不想用Xaira,我们首先建议您通过上面的在线检索网址:

http://www.ling.lancs.ac.uk/corplang/cgi-bin/conc.pl

1、利用UltraEdit软件中的搜索统计其出现的次数;

2、利用NoteTab Light生成词频表(要先分词处理);
http://www.notetab.com/ntl.php
3、用WordConcord检索;

4、利用word中的替换功能统计检索词的出现次数。

Thank you for the complement.
Everyone has his favorite or preferred tools, but my point of departure is to find solutions in the Word processors (like MS Word) itself.

I guess it also very important to learn at least one advanced analysing software, be it WordSmith Tool or Xaira.

While Xaira is much more powerful than my LCMC Webconc, some users have become accustomed to the Webconc. However, if a very frequent item is search and the query takes too much time, our server will kill the process. Now you can use the CGI scripts locally on your own machine, if you have configured it properly.

If you are using Windows 2000 or XP, and if you haven't done so, you can simply type in the following URL into the address bar of your IE browser: http://localhost. Windows automatically configures your system as a server. The default web folder is C:\Inetpub\wwwroot. In this directory create a folder named cgi-bin and decompress the two perl scripts into this folder (make sure they are in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\cgi-bin). I have assumed that you have placed the corpus files (15 xml files for each version) in the following directories:

Standard version: c:\lcmc\character\texts
Pinyin version: c:\lcmc\pinyin\texts

(Both versions can be downloaded at the LCMC site)

Before you can start using the web concordancer, you will need to install Perl on your machine. Perl is free to download at ActiveState: http://www.activestate.com/Products/ActivePerl/?_x=1

When Perl is installed, you can access the web concordancer at the following link (on your own machine, others will be not be able to access it unless you wish to configure your machine as a server for a public domain): http://localhost/cgi-bin/conc.pl

At this stage you can use the concordancer in the same way you use at my site.

Warning: You change the CGI scripts at your own risk!

回复:没有Wordsmith又不想用Xaira,如何使用LCMC

I think you need a WinXP Pro version to run a Web server. Some workaround
can be done, but may be too complicated for a typical user.

To configure WinXP Home edition as a server, see -
http://www.15seconds.com/issue/020118.htm

For Windows 2000, see -
http://www.webwizguide.com/asp/tutorials/installing_iis_win2k.asp

I have tested these scripts on my own machine, running WinXP Pro.
