The Department seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Chinese and Linguistics. You will have a PhD (or award within 12 months) and will be expected to pursue research in an area of linguistics or applied linguistics. Your research will complement other work at Lancaster, such as language acquisition, second language acquisition and teaching, classroom teaching methods, phonetics, syntax, semantics, cross-cultural pragmatics, sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, corpus linguistics, or any area of cognitive linguistics.

You will pursue research and publication at a level appropriate for submission to the Research Excellence Framework and will be expected to supervise MA and PhD students. You will teach and convene modules on Chinese offered by the Confucius Institute and also teach lectures and modules on the BA and MA Linguistics courses.
