About University of Sydney Papers in TESOL
The University of Sydney Papers in TESOL is a peer-reviewed journal. It is published by the TESOL Program, Faculty of Education and Social Work, the University of Sydney, Australia.
The University of Sydney Papers in TESOL is dedicated to the understanding of TESOL research broadly defined. It is fundamentally concerned with theoretical and methodological issues of contemporary TESOL and TESOL related research. Manuscripts considered for publication will be reviewed for their presentation, analysis, expert use of appropriate research methods, and rigorous development of theories relevant to problems in TESOL studies.
The University of Sydney Papers in TESOL publishes research articles that: (1) are within the area of TESOL; (2) appeal to the general interests of its readership; and (3) meet the basic requirements for articles published in the journal.

Cross-cultural communication
Discourse/pragmatics
English for specific purposes
English for academic purposes

The University of Sydney Papers in TESOL also publishes review articles that systematically analyze data, concepts, and results from previous studies to clarify trends and issues in TESOL research and to inform readers of trends in developing fields.
General Policies
The following policies apply to all articles and reviews submitted for consideration to the University of Sydney Papers in TESOL:
Manuscripts should conform to the requirements of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (5th edition). See http://www.apastyle.org/aboutstyle.html. Contributors are responsible for the accuracy of references and citations.
Manuscripts should report on original research or present an original framework related to previous research and testing theory and practice. A manuscript should not exceed 8,000 words.
Manuscripts already published elsewhere are not eligible to be considered for publication in University of Sydney Papers in TESOL. It is the responsibility of the contributors to inform the Editor of any similar work already published elsewhere.
The Editor of University of Sydney Papers in TESOL reserves the right to make editorial changes in any manuscript accepted for publication for the sake of style or clarity. Authors will be consulted only if the changes are substantial.
Articles are not copyrighted by University of Sydney Papers in TESOL, but if published later elsewhere, University of Sydney Papers in TESOL will be acknowledged as the initial locus of publication.
The views expressed in University of Sydney Papers in TESOL do not necessarily represent the views of the TESOL Program, Faculty of Education and Social Work, The University of Sydney.
