In Bachman (1990), pragmatic competence parallels with organizational competence.
In Kasper and Rose (1999), "discourse sequencing and conversational management" is one of the the main topics investigated in pragmatic studies.
Leech (1983) states that Halliday's interpersonal and textual functions belong to pragmatics, yet it seems that his "textual function" is different from Halliday's.
So, does text organizing performance/competence (e.g. the use of conjunctions (eg. and, but, or), relatives (e.g. that, which), etc) belong to pragmatics? It seems that it is out of traditional pragmatic analysis.
