Thank yo so much for your great help!
After a brief reading of one of the paper in the book, I found that there were still some other paper written by J. Flowerdew concerning signaling nouns. To be frank, I intended to write my MA thesis with signaling nouns in a learner corpus as one of the main perspectives. Therefore, can you possibly do me a favor again? Here is a short list of the paper:
1. Flowerdew, J. (2002). A pedagogic grammar of signalling nouns in discourse. Revista Canaria de Estudios Ingleses, 44, 141–155.

好像还有人研究 “外壳名词”（shell nouns），不知二者是什么关系？

谢谢分享！signaling nouns 翻译过来应该是标记性名词吧~其他研究里也称abstract nouns, shell nouns, general nouns
