真诚求教:在英语词汇里有 Watergate, Irangate, Whitewatergate, zippergate,以及 doublespeak, newspeak, netspeak等等现象。这些-gate, -speak在语言学(或词汇学)里是一种什么现象?这种现象的语言学理论依据或理论基础是什么呢?希望知道的老师帮我答疑解惑。不胜感激。我的邮箱是stevendeng2008@yahoo.com.cn

有的时候是突发性的,并非有什么系统性的理据。至少最初是这样的。以后就慢慢因袭下来了。
