Not just the "Data" folder, but replace everything in the folder initially named "ICE-GB-S"

what about that "lbd: lexicom"? when i start ICE, i am told "cold not open file'c:lbd\ice-gb.idx if i skip the 4th line "ldb: lexicon", though i have known now ice-gb.idx is under the folder "LEXICAL ".

You got this warning because you defined the ldb line with a path that does not exist.
Try removing that line.

mr.xiao, my os is wndows xp pro! thanks a lot! i restarted my computer for a couple of times yet the problem was still there! it seems that there was some problem when i tried to install ICE-GB. thanks a lot!

Suppose you have downloaded the ICE Sampler from the ICE site and got other corpus files from somewhere else, and suppose you have unzipped the sampler into c:\iceSamp, then copy the the additional corpus files into Data and Index folders in the Sampler directory and edit the ICEUP3.ini file as follow:

I can install the ICE_GB but I failed to get its full function after I followed either dizhinger's or xiaoz's suit, though the corpus MAP shows there are 500 txts in the data.

That's weird. Mine has nothing wrong with functionality, but encoding.
