where could i find corpus linguistics tutorials? I once read something about how to compare corpora of different size in a tutorial. Any articles or books about this?

Not clear about why you would like to compare the size of two corpora. BNC is a corpus of 100 millions words while ICE-GB is a corpus of one million words, are they different enough?

I think desperate means just what was said: "comparing corpora of different sizes" instead of "comparing the sizes of different corpora". When corpora of markedly different sizes are compared, the raw frequencies must be normalised to a common base, for per one million words, perl 100K words, per 1000 words etc. But the common base must be appropriate for the corpora under comparision. See unit 6.2 in the following document for discussion of normalisation.

Re tutorials, here are some useful links:

I guess desperate_NN is desperate_JJ for a keyword list of his own corpus as compared with a reference corpus.
