The British Academic Spoken English (BASE) corpus
http://www.rdg.ac.uk/slals/base/

The British Academic Spoken English (BASE) corpus is being developed at the Universities of Warwick and Reading, under the directorship of Hilary Nesi (Warwick) and Paul Thompson (Reading). It functions as a companion to the Michigan Corpus of Spoken Academic English (MICASE).

Like MICASE, the BASE corpus is made up of three main components.

Recordings of speech
Text transcripts
A database of speaker and speech event information

Is it feasible to use it to compare the SECCL in terms of collocation? I use it because i have no other available spoken corpus at hand. But I'm worrying about it. Is it OK?

By the way, I only use the part of Arts and Humanities and Social Sciences Transcripts.
