Some important differences between MI-score and t-score are:
(1). MI-score is a measure o strength of collocation; t-score is a measure of certainty of collocation.
(2). The value of an MI-score is not particularly dependent on the size of the corpus. For the t-score, however, corpus size is important, because the amount of evidence is being taken into account.
(3). MI-score can be compared across corpora, even if the corpora are of different sizes, but absolute t-scores cannot be compared across corpora (though it is reasonable to compare t-score rankings) because the size of the corpus will affect the t-score.
