Anyone Met this Problem with Antconc?

I used it to make a wordlist of my DIY Chinese Translated Fiction Corpus, and rarely, I found the wordlist displayed vertically but not horizontally! Strange enough, isn't it? Personally, I think there should be some inappropriate settings with My Antconc. Now I am still working on it! Take a look at the shot picture as follows :

it seems that this problem doesn't affect its final result. We can get what we want after "saving the output as a text" See:

Interesting! I cannot get your "vertical" result.

It is very ,ikely to be related to the new line character in Unix and Windows. Sometimes a txt file opened in Notepad in horizontal format will appear vertical in Wordpad.

Interesting! I cannot get your "vertical" result.

Thanks, Dr. hong and Xiao! I am lucky to find it a problem of non-problem,ha!

This might have to do with font and/or encoding of the original text(s).

Dr. Xu, my corpus files are in plain UTF-8 format. And strangely too, in the following picture I search concordance with regex "/" the results are displayed step-like:D.

What does forward slash mean in regex? I have no idea.

backward slash means escape.

>I found the wordlist displayed vertically but not horizontally!

This is usually a problem with the font choice. Some Microsoft fonts are used for vertical and others for horizontal texts. Change the font to something standard on your system (e.g. your default Microsoft Word font) and it should fix the problem.

Although the forward slash has no special meaning in Regex, it is used to mark the beginning and end of Regex expressions. Still, if the Regex expression is not valid, AntConc will report this.

I just tested forward slashes in English texts and they work as expected.

I don't think forward slash has any special meaning in Regex.

yes, It is not a regex indeed! But it can help you to locate all words tagged with ICATCLAS, and you have to checked the Regex box to use "/" , usually plus a POS like "v" or a combination "/[avnrpr]",etc. , to have them displayed for you, I meant this! Anyway, today my computer works normally when I am searching on LCMC and my CCTF too.

>you have to checked the Regex box to use "/"

Why do you need to check the Regex box?
All you need to do is add "/" to the token definition in the Global settings, e.g. via the user defined token definition box, (or the very complicated token classes)

sure, besides adding "/" in the global settings to the token definition, you've to check the regex box when a search is done and you want more results to be turned out. Now I have two shot pictures, and you may notice the difference:
