回复:Prof. Tony McEnery

All the books he authored or co-authored have had a great impact in the field.

Richard, what do you think is the most prominent contribution of Prof. McEnery to Corpus Linguistics?

Tony's impact in the field is felt widely, especially in European and America, in China I think Sinclair is more influential. His 1996 book on corpus lingusitics is possibly the first one that copes with corpus lingusitics systmatically.

In China I think Sinclair is more influential.
---This is probably due to the recomendation of Prof. Yang Huizhong, Sinclair's student and the reprinting of his 1991 book by Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press. This has been the first corpus linguistics monograph ever introduced to Chinese scholars.
