NSP was very slow when I tried it on the one million word FLOB.

NSP is a suite of Perl scripts. There is no Graphic User Interface (GUI). You will need to run the program in a DOS session (in Windows). And you will need to install Perl before you can run the Perl programmes. Once you have downloaded and installed Perl (free from Active Perl http://www.activestate.com/activeperl/), you will be able to run perl scripts. Read the readme file of NSP for how to run the programme.

well, i think i can not manage it.then it's convenient for me to manually extracte the lexical chunks.

NSP was very slow when I tried it on the one million word FLOB.

You need set more RAM to Perl. I even run it with BNC and it worked very well.

是perl程序集，对于习惯了GUI图形界面的人不太方便而已。不过，曾经做了个Java的图形界面调用起来蛮爽的，大量使用后发现在列出来的同类程序中是最棒的。抓个图跟大家分享一哈：

that's why i had to write my own program to count the word frequencies for the BNC corpus.
