比如,Search Term: woman
跨距是 5L to 5R
AntConc does have this feature. But, it is not dynamically linked with the Collocates Tool. Just go to the Concordance Tool and set the context window in the Advanced Search options.
Laurence.
Thank you!
I guess you mean contexts words. Yup, that is usable. But it would be much better if the context words in concordances could be colored.
Thank you!Lawrence understands Chinese? Great!
To me, this is really a most desirable feature for AntConc. Actually it's the display mode of Concgram. I would also like to suggest that an independent button for the font size of all columns be placed on the top interface, although you have devised a special dialogue for font size adjustments. I found it a little bit time-consuming to adjust font sizes for all columns in class and the most frequently involved was just the concordance lines. It's just for your reference. Thank you for your time and magical software, Prof. Anthony!

It seems that the only software is ConcGram that can have the context words highlighted in concordance lines.
ConcApp can also achieve this effect only if the user can do it manually.

The font size can be set in the global settings and then *all* the settings can be exported to a settings file. If you use the default name for the settings file, it will be imported automatically at the next startup, so all the fonts (and other settings) will be set as you like.
Add color coding to the Advanced Search context words in the KWIC view should be quite easy to do in the new version (3.2.3). I will look into adding the feature in the development release.
Thanks a lot for the font solution, Prof. Anthony!
Can you also add to Antconc the function of manual highlighting any item (a word or a few words) in a concordance line by clicking it? I mean the highlighted part can be colored, italicized or underlined, and the changes will remain if the cursor moves to the next lines. This is originally a ConcApp feature and I think it's especially useful for classroom teaching.
Thank you very much again for you prompt reply and generous contribution!
AntConc already has this feature. Just use "Left Click" while holding the "CTRL" key. Also, after highlighting lines, you can click the "Delete" button to delete the lines, or the "Insert" key to delete all other lines, keeping just the highlighted lines.
Thanks! But what I mean is to keep the manually highlighted words in different concordance lines, without having to hold the ctrl key all the time.
If you want to highlight a whole line, the method I described will work. You don't need to keep the Ctrl key press down. But, you are right that it will not work with individual words.
Of course, the sorting function will add highlighting to individual words. Why would you want to highlight other words in the line? Can you give a concrete example?
I think that sometimes manual highlighting is necessary to foreground some collocates or structures, especially in class. The following screenshot is just a demo of manual highlighting in ConcApp. Thank you for your attention!
I see. There seems to be underline and various color highlighting. These are all possible but it would make the interface very messy. How many different kinds of highlighting would you need?
Yes, you are right. The screenshot is messy as I displayed all the possibilities of highlighting in it. Surely, I don't think that we need to use "bold letters, italics, underline and coloring " at the same time. If only one or two of them are used simultaneously, the interface will remain neat.
Thanks. Let me think about the options.
