The Multidimensional Analysis Tagger (MAT) is a program for Windows that replicates Biber's (1988) Variation across Speech and Writing tagger for the multidimensional functional analysis of English texts, generally applied for studies on text type or genre variation. The program can generate a grammatically annotated version of the corpus selected as well as the statistics needed to perform a text-type or genre analysis. The program plots the input text or corpus on Biber’s (1988) Dimension 1 and it determines its closest text type, as proposed by Biber (1989) A Typology of English Texts. Finally, the program offers a tool for visualising the Dimensions features of an input text.

You have to install it before using, and the UI is quite tiny and narrow. Anyway, salute to the programmer. Hope it will be more functionally and graphically amazing in later versions.

I tried tagging a single text with the tagger, but the ST and MAt tagged texts were blank. Could somebody help solve the problem? Thanks.

MAT和ST命名的两个文件夹中的的文本全是空的​
MAT是内嵌了斯坦福大学的句法标注器，而斯坦福句法器是基于java编程语言，而基于Java编程语言的软件就需要电脑中安装Java运行的“虚拟机”，正常的电脑和Windows都是没有“Java运行器”的，所以，需要安装，而java运行器当前的版本有1.5版（很旧了）、1.6版（有点旧）、1.7版（主流）、1.8版（最新）。jre就是Java运行器，是Java Runtime Environment的首字母缩写，你要根据你当前的操作系统是32位还是64位的来选择JRE的32位或64位哟！

你也可以直接安装64位的JRE，它会拒绝安装在32位操作系统上，你就知道自己是32位的操作系统了。而windows xp/vista/7/8都有64位哟，只是windows xp的64位很少见。

李博士的热心及时的回复让我很感动，多谢！正在学习中。
 
各位网友好！我在使用这个工具时也遇到了“MAT和ST命名的两个文件夹中的文本全是空的”。但是我电脑已经装过了JAVA，也还是没有用。后来我在那个目录下边找到stanford-postagger.jar，能够打开，说明Java应该是装上了的。但是标注按钮点了没反应，不知道是什么情况。希望热心朋友可以帮忙解答一下~

许教授，我已经解决jar运行无结果的问题了:)。我是下载了BFSU Stanford POS Tagger，发现里面也有stanford-postagger.jar，然后把models那个文件夹复制到MAT那边去，最后发现能用了。估计models文件夹得配在一块。但是那个MAT里面还是用不了，点了tag输出的txt仍是0字节

大家好，我最近在使用MAT1.3.3时，选择“tag and analyze”，然后上传文本之后，软件会弹出这样的提示。我按照这个路径去找，也并没有找到这个内容。请问大家这是哪里出了问题？（不知道为什么，我不能上传图片，就把文字复制在下面了）
