请教一个统计分析问题

我用ICE-GB和ICE-SIN对比British English和Singapore English里的形容词最高级的使用情况。Hypothesis是，Singapore English更多地使用periphrastic form（就是most + Adj）。

我做了很多分析，目前只会用百分比来呈现数据 inflectional form (Adj+est)：periphrastic form (most +Adj)

我刚问了一个懂统计学的朋友（我自己也知道一点点），她看了后说，我这个没法做统计分析，因为统计最基本的要求是，两个group，每个group有很多subject，然后对比数据。而我这个相当于有两个group，但每个group只有一个subject。

求大神指教！我这个还能做统计分析吗？

What you mentioned is to compare the means of the groups. But in your case you can use the log likelihood test to find out whether the differences in the frequencies of the inflectional form and the periphrasic form in the two corpora are statistically significant, on the basis of four frequencies:

Frequency of the inflectional form in ICE-GB: a
Frequency of the inflectional form in ICE-SIN: b
Frequency of the periphrastic form in ICE-GB: c
Frequency of the periphrastic form in ICE-SIN: d
