Observation is essentially theory-laden

Scientific data are not given in experience, but taken from it. Observation implies selective attention. There is no such thing as theory-neutral and hypothesis-free observation and data collection.

What do you think of the above statement, please?
 
This argument is contrary to what "corpus-driven linguists" claim.
 
All facts are theory-laden, all theories are value laden and all values exist only within an ideology or world view.
